I think Progressives should feel a bit duped by him. National Healthcare was an important part of his candidacy. If people voted for him, and didn't want national healthcare, then, they were ignorant. Those people who expected him to honor his promise to allow the 2001 tax cuts for the rich to expire? They got duped. Those that expected him to honor his promise to recognize the Armenian Genocide? They got duped. He said "You need to make sure your child can speak Spanish." So, you knew going in that he'd be weak on curbing illegal immigration. I guess you could say that the stimulus is a reason one might feel duped, but it's hardly unique for a Democratic President to use Government resources to help people during a depression/recession. I think one could feel duped that he didn't go after Wallstreet thieves. Again, this is more of a progressive's disappointment.
