Japan’s Thoroughbred breeding industry appears unscathed by quake, tsunami

"The center of Japan’s Thoroughbred breeding industry – home to such American-bred champions as Azeri, Silver Charm, and Charismatic – appears to have escaped the nation’s largest-ever earthquake with relatively little damage, according to an early report in Racing Post."

Terrible! US appears to have escaped damage but Japan really hit hard, hundreds dead and massive damage. 8.9 quake one of largest ever.

That area of the world is by far the most active regarding quakes, the Japanese have strict building codes and many precautions against this sort of thing but nobody can prepare for an 8.9. It will be days before extent of damage is known, the US stands ready to help, hopefully we can assist them in their hour of need.
