Came into a very tough looking 1978 Ky Derby with an undefeated record ...

Which I only know cause I saw he won the PA Gov Cup at Penn Nat in an old media guide and thought...hmmm...Jerkens won that one too

Correct - he had a nice March of his 3yo season ... won the Hutcheson in 1:20 and change by 5 lengths and beat easy Wood Memorial winner Believe It in the Fountain of Youth. He ended up 20-14-1-2 for his career.

Affirmed and Alydar really seperated themselves from some pretty nice horses within the crop.

Sensitive Prince seperated himself pretty well from Affirmed at the eighth pole in the Jim Dandy. Still one of the most impressive finishes I've seen in a race like that.

Here's one I've never seen before - this is the sire of Cigar before his start in the '85 BC Mile.




Never even knew Biancone trained for Paulson for that matter.
