And since Roman Ruler is turning out to be at least a useful stallion, I would say that adds some value to Fupeg.

I have no idea about the nightmares, but ok, I will surrender the point to you on this one.

That being said though, the whole thing with LaL reminds me very much of Vindication. He had to have had the greatest books of mares for his first two or three crops.

He didn't do much with those books, and that is my prediction for LaL.

And for awhile there, don't forget, I was about the only person on DT defending the horse as he went into his three year old season.

Baffert trained horses (I remember) and their stud careers

Silver Charm - nope
Real Quiet - zippo
War Emblem - prefers other colts?
Point Given - slim
Congaree - ? may be ok
Vindication - so so

I can't remember many

the post race careers don't ever match their racing career.

Doesn't mean a whole heckuvalot

justa thought

First off, Real Quiet was not a zippo.

Baffert also had another one from the same crop as Real Quiet, and he's been a tremendous success.

I believe LaL is better suited as a stallion based on his conformation and pedigree than Vindication. Vindication has really bad knees. Most stallions are busts for the most part.

Bandini was OK.

Dont you think there is a reason that he has dropped to 15?

The price was to high to begin with.

Roman Ruler.
Bandini.
The BC Turf runner up, Champ Pegasus

He also had some Aussie superstar, Hardsun, or something like that.
He was bred to over 1500 mares on two hemisperes and you came up with Fraudini and one nice colt? Fu Peg had awesome books at the start of his stud career. Fu Peg is little more then a regional stallion at this point.

The price was hardily too high relative to the market. Fu Peg attracted a billion mares at huge fees, the point is he is a complete bust of a stallion on every level.

as Chuck says the stallion game is pot luck city as well. Malibu Moon has had an incredible raise to the very top of the market. Who would have ever considered a Md. based regional being able to command 800k for colts 7 years later. Not me. The point is that even if you know a ton about everything that is involved in breeding it is at best an educated crap shoot and most crap out. Fu Peg crapped out in a huge way
