Whole thing reminds me of this commercial.

Allow a bunch of Muslims to come in your country (one who's dominant culture is not acceptable to them,) and you're gunna take one in the neck. That's just reality. This 7 Bil is part of the price of ignoring that reality.
You're wrong. The bill is funded from sources. Including these heroes in a sentence expounding your personal Muslim hate and bigotry is unbelievable.

First, the cost is $7.4 billion to supplement NY workmans compensation and to cover the responders who were not from New York. And yes - this bill is funded by taking the money from elsewhere.

Of course, more important for the GOP to give billions in estate tax breaks to 6600 wealthy families than deal with helping the heroes of 9/11.

Secondly, these heros are dying of rare and severe cancers of the head, neck, nose, throat, and heart and lung disease. As young men. Those are not "normal occupational injuries" for firefighters, policemen, and ancillary workers (those that spent months at the site digging out the bodies of those who died) NY workman's comp will go beyond broke if they pay this out, so they are fighting WC claims. That isn't supported by the opinions of the doctors treating these men. The 7.4 billion would help cover these men and women's medical bills.

It is appalling and shameful that the Republicans in the Senate have blocked voting on this bill (they are filibustering it, and won't even allow it on the floor to be discussed, let alone voted upon) just for political purposes.

Instead of the GOP's public false outrage at the manufactured, nonsensical slight against Christianity they have made up, about working Christmas season, they should thank god that first responders don't consider working Christmas Eve and Christmas day a "slight against Christianity". GOP jagoffs. I was a paramedic for 10 years, and not one of these GOP jagoffs deserve the sacrifice any first responder would make for them or their families.

Jon Stewart did his whole show on this last night, including having 4 dying NY first responders on his show. Mike Huckabee was also on to promote his children's Christmas book, and Stewart went after him, too - and Huckabee had no good answers for the GOP obstructionism, either.

The GOP doesn't have a problem with the bill (not one has dared to say it's bad), they are refusing to let it come to the floor of the Senate for a vote, because the GOP fears that to pass it would be an obvious big plus in the Dems and Obama's political column.

The current Senate GOP are cutting off helping pay the medical care of these heros to politically spite a President and opposition political party they don't like.

Shows exactly where the Senate GOP puts their priorities - and it happens to be exactly where Mitch McConnell has said it is, publicly - for the GOP it's political games first, helping the country a distant second. If ever.

bad form for these gopers. I have a much bigger problem with sending money to all the other countries in the world than I do with taking care of our own hero's.

O.K. 7.4 BILLION is chump change to our Congress now-a-days. I agree. Outside of people who willingly take jobs in the NYPD and FDNY,(and they have to COMPETE for those jobs) and others who responded right away, whom ARE the heroes in this case, others who came were doing it out of the goodness of their heart and a feeling of wanting to help. Agree? Part of being a hero is ignoring the consequenses of your actions, right? Now I was watching this nightmare on the tube like most people on here. I'm maybe 170 miles away. Anyone with half a brain (or less) should know that there was some pretty nasty stuff floating around in the air. I mean really nasty stuff that was used in construction in the early 70's. I knew that there were going to be health problems for anyone anywhere near that sh!t. People volunteering to help should have known too. It's not a free payday. A lot of people are out to take advantage of FREE GOVT MONEY. Unfortunately for them WE THE PEOPLE are starting to realize where all of that $$ is coming from. If I went down there to help I wouldn't be asking for anything because I knew the risks involved. Any idiot should have known. City workers who were on the job should get whatever they need. Not so much, maybe, for those who volunteered.

Yeah. None of those police or firemen should have run into the WTC as the upper floors burned, dodging the splatterings of bodies hitting the sidewalk outside, trying to save lives. None of them should have spent days digging hoping for survivors, or months digging through the rubble trying to recover part of a foot, a tooth, a wallet, so a loved one could be identified. They should have known better. They should have quit on the spot as their rigs pulled up to the building. Refused to enter. Too bad you weren't there to tell them not to do it. The site should have been left as is with a huge fence around it. It's just part of their job to give their health and lives for the ungrateful and arrogant, and how dare they want their workmans comp - WC paid at the high rates of the most dangerous jobs in the world - to pay for the massive medical problems they contracted doing their job, giving 110%.

First of all who's not getting their workman's comp? Rangel?

7 billion between 20K responders (7 responders for every person who died) comes to 350K a person. And again why not go after the money that funded the attack. You know those 'rare muslims' making things bad for the majority.

Riot, please read my post again. Those 1'st responders deserve all the help they need. They went in knowing the risks. Everyone of them would do it again. I'm talking about giving $$ to people who went in after the fact as VOLUNTEERS. NYS is broke and needs all the federal help it can get. Thank you America in advance.

Let me put a face on it for you. A friend of mine from college. He was so happy to pass all the tests and live his dream as a member of the FDNY.

People like you share a whole lot of the blame for 9/11. You should never forget that. How many of us would of wanted a bunch of young angry Muslim Males to be allowed to run around in our country doing whatever they damn well pleased? Not me. It's you, and now you want everyone to pay for something your stupidity helped cause. There will always be a percentage of them out to kill us. You want us to take it in the neck so we can be nice to the rest of them. I say fk you!! No more Americans should be gettin' owned just to satisfy your "everybody is 1" bullshyt!

Very well worded. These young Muslims Males who are running around in our country doing whatever they want should be in a jail cell.

.
You moronic bigot, not one person here has ever said that's okay. What a stupid thing to say. What a simple-minded hater you and your ilk are. You dare to hijack a thread about the heros of 9-11 and turn it into a venue for your bigotry and hatred.

Go to one of your Islamophobia web sites and find your friends. Nobody needs to tolerate your hate talk here.

What an ignorant, hopeless bigot you are. You haters are ruining this country. You're the losers that need to be locked up. You're so stupid, you blame everyone else for your hate and failure. Get out of the way. Real Americans are trying to take care of this country, and your KKK robes are tripping the rest of us.
