Name her. 2) The '82 Starlet winner, Fabulous Notion, later produced Test winner Fabulously Fast. A CA-bred, Fabulous Notion was also a half-brother to this European son of Alydar, who upset With Approval in the '90 Turf Classic at Belmont after having placed to the great Nashwan in 3 races that year. Name him. 3) This '83 winner of the Starlet was out of the blue hen Courtly Dee. Two of her daughters produced Grade 1 winners. Destiny Dance dropped Balletto and Aurora dropped 3 Grade 1 winners in Arch, Acoma, and Festival Of Light. Name her. 4) Both the answer to (3) and the 2nd place horse in the '83 Starlet ended up running in the Kentucky Derby. Name the runner-up, who later produced the recent (and modest) sprinter, Simon Pure. 5) This CA-bred runner-up in the '84 Starlet later produced top grass horse With Anticipation. She also won the inaugural BC Juvenile Fillies, but was DQ'd. Name her. 6) This '86 Starlet winner upset BC Juvenile Fillies winner Sacahuista. Later she took the BC Sprint and produced the good grass filly Dianehill. Name her. 7) This stallion produced back-to-back winners of the Starlet in '88 and '89 with Stocks Up and Cheval Volant, respectively. He's best remembered as the maternal broodmare sire of Zenyatta and the paternal broodmare sire of her conquerer, Blame. Name him. 8) The '91 Starlet winner defeated Soviet Sojourn, producer of Indian Charlie. This filly herself produced Grade 1 winner Miss Houdini, who in turn, dropped recent classic colt, Papa Clem. Name her. 9) This ill-fated '93 Starlet winner was a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Imperial Gesture. She was owned by Jerry Moss, best known as one of the founders of A+M Records. Name her. 10) This runner-up to Grade 1 winner and producer Serena's Song in '94, herself won multiple Grade 1 races and later produced the good colt Suave. Name her. 11) Chile Chatte, dam of DM Futurity winner Horse Greeley, ran 3rd to this gray filly by Quiet American, later the dam of streaking stallion Bernadini. Name her. 12) The 2005 Starlet runner-up is best remembered as being the only daughter of Vertigineux to have started in a Grade 1 at Belmont. Name her. |
