He was purchased for a heck of a lot more than that (maybe $300,000?) and was trained by Bill Mott. To spend that kind of $$ on that pedigree, just to dump it for peanuts.......wow. He was claimed by connections I have never heard of.

Great Exuma was a home bred for Diane Snowden...probably still paid the $60,000 stud fee for Bernardini but they did not pay $300K for him at auction.
