Is it fair to say that she ran better than most of her detractors thought she would??.... I sure thought she was going to get beat by more than a head.... but found myself hoping for her to "get there" as they came to the wire.

Great point! I was the same way! I gave her very little chance, but when she came flying, I was rooting for her. A year ago I had very little respect for her. She has made me a believer.

She did more for her reputation and legacy today in losing by a nose than in 18 of her 19 wins.

Once again, it's not the horses fault, it's the owners.

Agreed. It's like they thought that a tough race would damage her self-esteem or something.

Well said Dave. I thought she was out of it when she was so far behind. She ran one hell of a race but HOTY was fairly won by Blame.
