Uncle Carm (Bluegrass Cat) makes his follow-up start after debuting to be sixth in a sprint here Sept. 25. The 3/4-brother to Leah’s Secret (Tiger Ridge), MGSW, $1,158,805 suffered from a tardy beginning first out and adds blinkers this time. BERNARDETTE (A.P. Indy) is out of the Cara Rafaela (Quiet American), a Grade I winner who was named 2006 Broodmare of the Year off the accomplishments of Bernadette’s full-brother Bernardini, the MGISW champion who has had an excellent freshman year at stud. Tom Albertrani also conditioned Bernardini, who broke his maiden emphatically by 7 3/4 lengths when stretched out from six to eight furlongs in start number two before reeling off five more consecutive victories. Interestingly, Albertrani also sends out Gharbiah (Bernardini) for her first go for Rabbah Bloodstock. The $300,000 FTSAUG yearling is a half to accomplished turf mare Honey Ryder (Lasting Approval), MGISW, $2,279,199.
