Shouldn't St. Trinians be the conduit that unifies this board for one fleeting moment as the biggest bet-against of the century the next time she runs?

The anti-Z's will see a massive underlay who's reputation is essentially based on a losing performance.

The pro-Z's will see a great horse that had it's heart ripped out by an even greater one.

Or do the pro-Z's desperately want St. Trinians to do well next year so they have another name to type besides Twice Over and Rip Van Winkle?

Depends who you talk to.

Once on paper. Fans will start factoring in the wide trips.

Might be more than 20 in that instance.

St. Trinians is an outstanding synthetic female. I don't think her reputation is based on a losing performance ... she was 2.00-to-1 going into that race off of a 100 day layoff - and facing Zenyatta at 9fs at Zenyatta's home track.

Nothing was made of how she broke into the side of the gate and stumbled at the start - or how she was excessively wide on both turns for no other reason than to avoid being trapped by John Shireffs other horse in the race. More was made about losing a shoe on the far turn.

Fair enough, but the insurance to all that, if you don't think she's a fraud (what is your analysis of the Big Cap in that regard?), is that she's no slam dunk to come back the same anyways given her trainer, her "unique" action, her present injury, etc. In fact, all those little quirky snafus in the Vanity were probably a result of her physical condition.

Her Big Cap was simply a case of a horse not firing. She was in a 14 horse field against older Males going 10 furlongs without a single race beyond 8.5fs over here under her...and she found herself 12.5 back after a half mile. She's a horse with enough natural speed to be hounding an honest pace sprinting...Rosario took her back and she finished only evenly.

She was exposed in a sense in that she showed a dimension where she isn't as good at. That's no big deal though.

I know she wasn't much horse in Europe after several races there, I know she has really odd action and all that .. but I wouldn't be surprised if she comes back where she left off. Mitchell does hit them with a magic wand - and they often do go sour after a few strong races for him - but he gets them back to the level a lot of times... albeit typically not for any extended period of time.

True. Seems like it rained for about 20 minutes, and stopped. Then they ran. Whatever happened, she can compete with those. You really think she can't compete with that Dakota Phone? She can. Mitchell thought she was gunna win that race. She can beat Dakota F'n Phone.

When I found the crusty Zenyatta saddle cloth I gagged and had to stop working on your car.

I didn't want to say anything as I didn't want to embarrass you.

The car was clean except for a few yacht brochures lying on the passenger seat

One of those damn kids you employ must be a Z fan !

Really can't blame him, tho, as she is a dual Breeders' Cup champ and all, but look … I'm a busy guy and just can't deal with your rookie mistakes anymore.

Have no choice but to take it to the dealer next time…

How many no mas does a horse get? He already showed he didn't want 10F last year. Think he might be up to it this year? I mean, Pletcher is actually working him 5F and even having him gallop out 7F. Now, that's real endurance work.

No mas from QR.
No mas from RA's connections (after little Z whopped her ass good).
No mas from St. Trinians (after Z almost broke her down).

F u c k the Beyer #'s; # of no mas should really be the measuring stick.

LOL

Maybe if they resurrected a guy like Laz B. to train him … or even give Sugar Ray a shot (lol) … but yeah, a Pletch Inc. runner trying to get ten panels in G1 company after being on the shelf for a couple months doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence.
