That's never been the way it's been presented here, and you know it full well. Islam has been presented as Muslims are inherently violent, all of them (even the "tame" ones, and yes I know Scuds wrote that and not you), and this bastardized, half-azzed "understanding of Islam" that's been presented on this board somehow "proves it", and it's only a matter of time until all of Islam rises up.

Nobody is discussing Al Quaeda here. Nobody has started out the multiple conversations about Muslims (same ones over the past couple of years) with, "Oh, let's examine how an evil small terrorist subsect is subverting an entire religion". They are discussing "Muslims". The threat of an entire religion against this country. That is the starting point, not a conclusion drawn by any intelligent examination.

I won't take as much issue with the 2nd sentence (not as far off as the 1st sentence is.) He's wrong about Capitalism. Capitalism always forces a lot of people to be very poorly paid in order for a very few to be very rich. There is a connection between the two factors. We've struggled to get to this form of Capitalism that he's describing. It's never just a case of not getting ones fair share of the goodies. It's always a case of some having to eat rats so the very few can eat steak.

Well, you're free to call me what you want, but I think you should be rather Reagan-Like (trust but verify) when it comes to trusting these folks. i did some more googling this morning before i left for work. apparently the wahabi sect is the ultra-whacky branch of islam; not the sunni or shiite. its founder said no changes are acceptable, since the third century is what i remember it said...yeah, they flow with modern times. anyway, does the sect make the terrorist, or is the terrorist attracted to an ultra-conservative view? i think it's the latter-whacko people finding a whacko viewpoint to justify their horrible behavior.
