Tom's Kitten can win with improvement, but at 5-2, you look elsewhere considering there are 5 horses you can make as strong a case for. And since the first is a stand alone race wit no tie to a P4, it's an ideal place to try and beat horses like Abilio and Tom's Kitten.
So when the TOUT TRAINERS give out their horses, causing the odds to drop and a ton of GROUPIES to lose their money, we can see through their BS. YET, when the same individuals are in accord that horses 'like to run on the inside' (and train them that way, thereby ensuring that they're subjected to XTRA stress in races), we take it as gospel, rather than insisting that they STFU in this case as well. Why is that, I wonder?

BTW, does Wesley Ward have a colt/horse in his barn?

Trainerspeak is trainerspeak. Take it for whatever it's worth... (It isn't really what's being done in this or what should be readily dismissed.) Whether a horse wins or flops, the 'steam' being generated above about how a certain barn or its' pilot fish say 'today's the day' is the worst kind of 'advice' for anyone serious about wagering on horses.

tfm, serious question here, why do you care if a horse is gelded or not? This seems to be a hot button for you and I can't understand why.

You're a gambler (at least you seem to be one), who gives a **** if a horse has nuts or not as he crosses under the wire?

Because it's not necessary in most cases. Today, for example, Ward had two baby 1sters in the 9th at SAR: BOTH geldings. Ward is obviously from the good-old-boy school of race training. He's carrying on for G P Odom, who'd geld them before they even got in the barn. I think there are better ways to go about things; more humane ways. You don't unnecessarily geld your colts; you teach your horses to run INSIDE, because this is EASIER for them; and you have your jocks ride them that way, because it's the HUMANE thing to do. There's a certain grace and art to this sport. If you watch enough races, you get a sense of what's 'natural' and what isn't. A result of this is a low tolerance level for IDIOTS -- be they jocks or trainers.

Hope this clears a few things up for you.
