no, neither wants to. not sure why the onus falls only on jackson. there have been opportunities for these horses to meet. why it's ok for the mosses to refuse to ship, but not jackson is beyond me. oh, wait. i know why. it's because those who are firmly in one camp refuse to see the situation clearly. and that goes for either camp.

You, Riot & Booth are all so similar. Are you guys the same person who use different username's?

yeah, you corrected me...i know full well about the apple blossom, i also know it wasn't the one race last year or this in which they could have faced off. i know that anyone who wants to consider themselves knowledgeable about horse racing wouldn't go on and on about rachel 'backing out' of that race. anyone who follows this sport understands exactly why she didn't run, that she was up against it to make the race at all, regardless of competition, and that jess jackson showed himself to be none too smart regarding horses when he aimed for the race! it was an almost impossible undertaking, yet you and two others on here continue to believe that there were dark, sinister forces at work there-when in fact it was all about a horse who had been on the shelf for months, and could in no way be ready for the needed effort after that layoff. jess jackson was an idiot for even making the attempt. the mosses have been no more keen to take on stiff competition this year than jackson. zenyattas races prove that just as much as rachels. |

i've seen a variety of comments about rachel. hard to say what would happen were they to meet. i hope they do meet so the question will be answered. |

The race was "moved back" five days. You really think five days makes any real difference in a horse's fitness?

This all said... unless Steve A. is working some funky new training regime, Rachel Alexandra does not appear nearly as fast as she was last year. Does the Rachel of last spring/summer only win the Lady's Secret by a few lengths? No way. Hopefully I'm wrong though. __________________ Please do not forget who had Rachel in the begining of the year last year when the all important foundation was put in to her. Hal Wiggens trained the horse up to and for the Kentucky Oaks and after her impressive win, Jess Jackson purchased her for an untold amount. Maybe Steve A. IS NOT the best trainer in the USA. If a horse is just starting their initatial race campaign as a two year old or returning to the races after a layoff, the foundation put in to the horse is maybe the most important part of the future races the horse will run. Like I said in one of my earlier post, Horsemanship is all but DISSAPEARED from the game today , maybe except for old time trainers like Mr Wiggins. ![]() |
