![]() Paul Goydos fired a 12 under par 59 today to become only the 4th golfer in history to shoot 59 in a PGA Tour event. He didn't make any eagles either. He had 4 birdies on the front and then 8 birdies on the back.
I used to actually play in a lot of tournaments with Goydos back in the 1980s on the Golden State Tour. I was never actually paired with him but he was in the group right in front of me a couple of times. He was the best amatuer out there at the time. He would always shoot around 70. I couldn't compete with him. I would usually shoot around 77. http://www.golfweek.com/news/2010/ju...re-classic-59/ Last edited by Rupert Pupkin : 07-09-2010 at 02:28 AM. |

![]() Without cheating, can anyone name the other 3 players that have shot 59?
I'll give you their initials: AG, CB, and DD. |

![]() AS had a 59 too, but she's a girl so it doesn't count.

![]() I have shot 58's and 59's all the time. Unfortunately that's just on the front 9.

![]() You are correct. I couldn't remember all 3 off the top of my head. The only one I remembered immediately was Duval. His 59 was at the Bob Hope.

![]() Harrison Frazer shot 59 a couple years ago in the finals of Q-School. Shigeki Maruyama also shot a 58 in US Open Qualifying about 10 years ago.
