just because she's famous and is given ample opportunity to run her mouth doesn't mean she's smart. she went from mayor of some little town to be gov of alaska-how? i have no idea. maybe the opponent for governor was a loser? then, mccains folks seize upon her for vp because she's a woman, and had no baggage compared to a lot of other possibles for that spot. i don't find anything to be impressed about- i do think she's an idiot actually. compare her to whomever you wish...at least most people don't go around opening their mouth and removing any doubt of how stupid they are. i wonder if the average person can name their favorite founding father....

Since when is 'smart' a qualification for US senator?
Deceptive, corrupt, greedy, power hungry, dishonest, arrogant...seem more appropriate for our current crop

When you listen to some of those Senate sub-commitee hearings on C-Span and get to listen to most of these Senators, I think most of them are pretty bright. I'm not saying they all are. But I think most of them are pretty smart. You have a lot of doctors, lawyers, successful business people, etc.

I think many of the adjectives you used would also be correct.

When they had the baseball players in front of the sub-committe most of these dopes couldnt even pronounce their names correctly. You know because Sosa is such a tricky name.

The guy who acted like the biggest idiot was actually a republican. I believe it was Dan Burton who vigorously defended Roger Clemens.

None of them were overly impressive at the baseball hearings. I guess it depends on the subject matter when it comes to them showcasing their intelligence.

belonging to either party and believing in either one of them, qualifies a person as being pretty stupid. i like to roll one up....take a few hits and laugh as the fools argue over which side is better at messing things up or screwing the general public in favor of big money interests. they are not smart enough to legalize it. they are too busy draining the country.
