Dennis Dodge once told me that they get $20 for a race in the closer look and its a pretty finite amount of time to look it over.

Thought I'd resurrect this and call attention to the 2nd tomorrow at Saratoga where Brian Mulligan handicapped the race for the turf. Just a minor detail I guess...

I don't check out the closer look section that much - but I'm imagine it's no different than any other job for a lot of guys - they have days where they're not focused at all and do very sloppy work because their heart and mind isn't into it.

Nick Tammaro is always focused. He puts a lot of time into his handicapping job.

I guess he missed the part about it being a maiden claiming race too. He felt the need to give us trainer stats on debuting MSW runners.
