Very sporting of Hollywood Park. A 6-horse race with no show betting.

Bankroll is $115.50.

Another attempt at Bet #4: $115.50 on Rachel to show today at Monmouth.

Let's see if Monmouth will risk show betting in a 7-horse race. I don't remember seeing show betting cancelled in a 7-horse race before.

Humongous minus pool, with 95% of the 1.2 million show pool bet on Rachel.

Rachel won and paid $2.10. The bankroll grows to $121 through bet #4. (I'm pocketing the extra 27 cents).

PS--I wrote that I didn't remember "show betting being cancelled in a 7-horse race before", but in this very thread there was an example of show betting being cancelled in 7-horse field.

Good spotting. A lot of people had the same idea. The WPS pools for the previous race totaled $60K. For the Havre de Grace race it totaled over $380K.

Did you happen to notice what % of the show pool was bet on HdG?

I didn't. She was 1/9 so I am assuming nearly all of it.

It's been 3 years since my last "show parlay" pick, the above one on Rachel. That's not from lack of opportunities. But it was long enough to result in this thread finally being sent to the Archives. However, a thread can rise from the dead...

Princess of Sylmar in the Alabama today seems like a good choice to keep my "current" parlay going.

Bankroll = $121.

Bet #5: $121 on Princess of Sylmar in the Alabama

Princess of Sylmar won and paid 2.10 to show. The bankroll grows to $127 through bet #5. (I pocketed 5 cents.)

I'll try to make the next bet in the parlay faster than I made this one!
