While I thought ice box clearly ran the best race yesterday, I am not that enthused about his prospects moving forward as he seemingly is the type that needs pace help and luck to be successful.

i agree. been figuring everyone will jump on his bandwagon now. people tend to look to closers for whatever reason in the belmont, when in fact speed and stalker types excel in this race. longer distances may well dull his late kick, and if the pace isn't right, he won't get there. i picked him for yesterday because i thought there was plenty of speed up front for him to close into. it's not always the case.

It is going to give us a better price on a horse who doesn't need the pace up front.

I argee.
I loved Ice Box going into Saturday (because it was pretty easy to deduce that the pace would be suicidal) but I would love to be able to bet against Ice Box in his next start. I'm really hoping that whichever race he ends up in next comes up paceless. He closed so well into those blistering fractions on Saturday that he will almost surely be overbet next time out. If there is speed in his next start it would still be foolish to play against him, but if their isn't, he could be a wonderful bet-against.

Of course - on the other hand - I like Zito and the horse, so I wouldn't mind seeing them win a TC race.
