Racing is about doing the best you can in relation to everyone else. Doesn't matter what aspect you're talking about. Nothing else is important. I think being contrarian and especially finding ways to either cheat or gain an edge through very hard work are most key.

General life is about having food, drink, sleep, and something to do that makes you feel good. You could probably get all four of those things in a prison cell .. although certainly not quality food, quality drink, quality sleep, and quality activites that make you feel good.

Actually, back when he was like 17 or 18, he used to insist that his goal in life was to have a bunch of kids by his mid 20s and then die at the age of 29.

At least he had some self given purpose back then.
