the move by the board was my 'ridiculous item of the day' in that thread. so glad i only have one left in school (and NOT in texas) but in a few months, he graduates. this is also why i took a very active role in my kids education, and made sure there were plenty of books here for them to pore over, to fill in the blanks they couldn't get in the brief time spent in school during the day, and all of half the year. here's the worst part: Serving 4.7 million students, Texas accounts for a large percentage of the textbook market, and the new standards may influence what is taught in the rest of the country.
