You are shitting me that you think Karlsson had a big summer last year. And don't try busting out her recent Hawthorne hotness on me because you know it is a different league. She will yet again flirt with the Laviolette line

She had a good summer considering her loss of the bug, the fact that she's only a couple years removed from her first career win, and the fact that she still wasn't getting tons of good mounts. Of the top 10 riders at Arlington last year based on wins, she was 5th in win percentage and 5th in ITM percentage. That's certainly not a bad season, I would hope, or we'd have to start talking about your boy Timmy, who of the top 10 riders, ranks 9th in both categories.

The only Laviolette line I know is about how much personal hatred you have for him as a rider, never any numbers or anything or any good reason other than you felt wronged by him on occasion.

Either way, I certainly don't want to derail what promises to be an AMAZING thread with this. Will be happy to take it up with you the next time I see you, and you know how much that means that it's important for me to keep a thread on topic -- it has THAT much potential.

Vic did a fantastic job with Joel. He is a great rider and Vic was the first one to run out and be by his side when he went down last week. Garcia is a freakin awesome young rider ! Vic is holding pocket aces ! Best of luck to Vic, Joel & Martin !

Rosario's stats:

With Vic as agent:

All races: 359-for-1,917 (18.7% wins) $1.90 ROI
Sprints: 222-for-1,170 $1.84 ROI
Routes: 137-for-747 $1.99 ROI
Stakes: 36-for-243 $2.07 ROI

Before having Vic as agent:

All races: 339-for-2,335 (14.5% wins) $2.14 ROI
Sprints: 211-for-1,470 $2.12 ROI
Routes: 128-for-865 $2.18 ROI
Stakes: 15-for-149 $1.49 ROI

I think it's pretty clear that his reputation as a rider improved quite a bit when Vic had his book .... his betting value numbers came down to earth somewhat, but that figured to happen as his name became bigger.

Did he get better as a jockey over that time? No, I don't think so. Still - his reputation and quantity of live mounts improved .. and that's all any rider cares about. I guess it must have annoyed him that he had to share an agent with another young rider like Garcia.

Hard to feel Vic's pain because he's still got a competent young rider in Garcia .. but Garcia isn't the talent Rosario always was.

The odd thing about Martin Garcia's numbers is how much he struggles on the turf.

He's just 1-for-42 in turf races this year.

In turf routes over the last two years - he's 7-for-132 with an ROI of $0.50.

He's in his 6th year of riding now - and only once has he ever won at a 10% or better clip in turf routes .. that was in 2006 when he went 19-for-160 with a very poor $1.48 ROI.

For his entire career in turf routes he's 47-for-540 with a $1.15 ROI

He's fine in all the other categories.

While watching the Oilers - Canadiens game and betting Penn National & Sam Houston at the same time. Guess I am getting too old to do 4 things at once. Please give me a synopsis, too tired to read the whole damn thing again
