Most sports books have free drink coupons that you can ask for when you place your horse bets. I know Luxor & Mandalay Bay both do this. They just don't want to provide free drinks for people watching sports and not gambling.

Last year I was in MGM's and you could get drinks for free... IF.. you showed the waitress a horse racing bet ticket.
Monte Carlo, Excalibur, NY also give drink tickets if you're playing horses. Just ask for them when you're making your bets.

Also, don't know where you're staying, but MC will give you free racing forms if you are staying at any MGM/Mirage property, by showing them your room key. Some places give them out, some charge you.

It's not the most glamorous around but I've been treated VERY nicely by the staff at the Hilton, specifically Jay Kornegay the director. Their book is huge and the TVs are all functional, something that Mandalay Bay lacked the last time I was in there.

I didn't like the book at aria at all but maybe thats just me. Red rock is a great place to bet horses as well as mandalay bay. I have no information on the smallish bets though...

You hit the nail on the head Nick. Hilton was great the couple times I have been in there. It is huge and no frills, which I kinda prefer.
