![]() I watched probably close to 10 - 12 hours of it all weekend and from the word go I never thought we would be even close. No enthusiasm in the players (AMERICANS) eyes and faces. Where as the Euros had that look and feel.
I got hooked on the Ryder Cup the year Payne hit the shot that cinched it for the Americans, that was great golf and a great battle. I ask you guys this, and I asked myself this when the team was announced. Did we not have the right group assembled this year? What about the captain? |

![]() I don't think it mattered what group we put out there, the Euro's right now are collectively better players. I watched every shot Saturday and Sunday and I think the reason the American guys didn't care was because they knew they had no shot at winning. Mickelson looked like he was inconvenienced by even being there. When it all comes down to it, I don't think the captain matters much. I thought Lehman did okay with exception of Verplank. I thought he should have played more. Not sure who the next captain will be, but most of talk is around Azinger. Whoever it is better take some refresher courses on motivation, heart, and guts, because right now the Europeans are so far ahead it's not even funny. For the most part, that team will still be intact in '08 win they go to horse country. Hell as much fun as they have, I bet they take a trip to the track for a few pints and a lot of wagering.

![]() The US team has zero personality. They need a guy like John Daly out there. He couldnt have done any worse than that jerk Mickelson.
Verplank, Cink, Lehman, Furyk, Mickelson, Dimarco...what a bunch of zeros on the personality scale. |
