Default I have heard........

Nothing but positive things about this movie although I haven't seen it yet I look forward to it. Jeff Bridges has had a wonderful career from The Last Picture Show which if I'm not mistaken was his film debut? To films like Starman, The Fabulous Baker Boys(One of my favs), The Contender, The Fisher King. He did a film in 2004 that I would see if you haven't called " The Door In The Floor" where he plays a famous children's author named Ted Cole. His marriage has been strained by a tragedy, and he agrees to take on an apprentice for the summer. It's a very good film.

I saw the film last Saturday night. Jeff Bridges is absoulutely terrific and the performance scenes are great! I have an opinion on my sense of the character of Bad Blake, and would love to hear other opinions as well. The thing that I was struck with, is that underneath all the bad habits the guy has, he is a good man down deep, you know? He just got caught up in the road life of the business, and sure made some bad choices, but he is still a good guy. I love the way they played the relationship between him and his former protege Tommy (a toned down Colin Farrell), whose of course become a huge star. But as he says in the movie, " I aint forgot that you gave me my start", they could have made this a total jealous and contenious relationship, which would have been so cliche. But, accept for a few remarks back and forth with his manager, which are funny scenes that isn't the way it plays out. When Tommy joined Bad on stage for an impromtu duet, afterward no blow up scene. It was very refreshing, in my opinion. Great film, and it will not shock me at all to see Jeff Bridges talk home the Best Actor Oscar.
