After the Philly race in November I pronounced Winslow Homer my Derby horse.

I was not overly impressed by what I saw today. I still like that he has tactical speed and Ramon can put him in any spot he wants.

Being out of a Summer Squall mare, you'd like to think he can go the extra distance, but he had a sweet journey today and I would've expected him to win by many open lengths seeing how easy he was travelling in behind horses as they turned for home.

Jackson Bend had a much tougher trip, ran a better race in my opinion and I am not a fan.

It seemed like he was struggling to stay in front of JB at the end, But, Dutrow said he didn't like him in this race, so he probably didn't have him set to run. Lets see what happens @ FOY when he stretches out more.
