Wow, that was exciting! No getting to the winner, but Lloyd ran a fantastic race and he'll learn a lot from it.

Rich from Lexington (and Dee Tee Stables)

He sat the best trip in the world behind 4 horses who went out, a few of them checked out of it, turning for home it looked like he could make a run and the chalk pulled away... He did run well, no doubt but this group was really bad, and I would not be quick to bet this horse next time out.

Thanks for the assessment.

Congrats to all involved on the 2nd place finish.

Man you suck. The race actually was quick, and he was green and still finished 2nd....A little early for cold water on this one.

No cold water at all.. He ran well, when I was looking at the race last night with another DT'er we both said this group is horrible and he might have a chance, but IMO with the trip he pulled he should have been closer to the winner... I hope he turns into a stud for these guys.

I don't think anyone is saying this horse is a world-beater It's a first race. The positive experience is most important, I'd say. He lucked into a good experience for a firster - sat behind, got plenty of dirt kicked in his face but wasn't bumped, pinned, intimidated, checked; then got to come out and learned he has to - and he can - pass horses.

That he got money is a bonus.

I agree. He looked very comfortable racing.

Please . . . Please, I beg of you, do not EVER put money on this horse. Keep making your big trip assessments, it helps all the rest of us betting into the same pools you are.

Just got home from the Big A. Lloyd was teriffic, took a ton of dirt in his face but wanted to and did pass horses. No one was beating Assman today. Very professional first start for this colt who proved he belongs in this class.

A big thanks to Steve and Gary both of whom could not be more accommodating today. Lloyd came out of the race fine. Great to see the crew today and I can't wait for the next start! Also, a thanks to Michelle, look forward to the pictures from today! Congrats to my fellow owners!

I was going to say the same thing but figured he would bet him just to spite us

Just back from Big A as well. Super glad to see Lloyd translate his morning interest into a competative performance. Very excited to have a runner in NY.

Beautiful day, great crowd of partners, cashed a few tickets, time for a cocktail!

Big thanks to Gary, Steve and team.

Default Photos from Lloyd's Race

Another gorgeous day of racing for Dee Tee Stables. It was a beautiful day in NY today. It was great to meet so many people. I did not get a chance to say goodbye to everyone, I was really tired and needed to get on the road. My pictures are too big to upload individually so here is a link to them. They may be a bit out of order, especially the saddling.unsaddling pics. I will need someone to help with a list of the DTers in the group photo with Chucky. He graciously agreed to a photo then waited while I had to change lenses and, he was riding in the next race which was in 20 minutes!!!

Lloyd was very impressive in his first start. He acted like an old pro in the paddock. The folks at NYRA were quite accomodating to our motely crew, we watched the race from the winner's circle which is just about on the main track!! We were still milling about when the winner came for a photo and they gently shooed us out!!!

I was able to get a quick pic of Lloyd, Chucky and a plane overhead, but cut off Lloyd's nose - I had been hoping for that shot but when the time came I was too close and couldn't get the entire picture. I think Pmac made it to the wire first with his daughter, even if he didn't I am sure she will be nice to him and tell him he is the best ;-)

It was really great to see everyone today. Thanks for adding a fabulous vibe to the day. And of course, thanks to Steve and Gary!

Congrats to those involved. That was a sharp debut. A little green but all in all, lots to like.
