The performance gap between being an ordinary allowance horse and becoming a Graded Stakes winner is alarmingly razor thin.

The winner of todays "Grade 2" was beaten in a non-winners of 2 alw race two weeks ago by a horse that was on a 10 consecutive race losing streak.

But I know, the race took place on a synthetic track ... and any times I say something less than kind about a horse or race run over a synthetic track - you sprain your vagina.

It's comical reading some of your posts. Or, listening to Searling on the show. All this NOT FAST ENOUGH stuff gets real old. It's just STUPID. Especially with all the SLOW horses continually winning races.

I actually liked this horse today. It wasn't so much what she'd accomplished but how she compared with the others in the race. I wasn't particularly impressed by any of the others, so I took a shot. See, when you don't have the NUMBERS anchor to drag around, you sometimes get lucky.

But, I really enjoy all your BEYER history lessons or those insightful stats.

I knew a redboard was coming....and a very poor 'I stabbed in the dark and hit something' type of redboard at that.

A few months ago - there were five - count them five - graded stakes Breeders Cup races run at two turns over a synthetic track.

Out of those five races ... I posted on here before the race that Life Is Sweet was my top pick to win the Distaff - she did win at 8/1 odds.

I posted that Vale of York was my top pick to win the Juvenile - he won the Juvenile at 30/1 odds.

I posted that Furthest Land was my top pick to win the Dirt Mile - he won the Dirt Mile at 21/1 odds.

3-for-5 ... and I showed more respect for Zenyatta's chances in the Classic than most of the other so-called "numbers guys" you stupidly bash.

Oh ... and how many non-Breeders Cup synthetic races did I post a pick of on here last year? You could count them on one hand and still have a finger or three left over .. and does Genaral Quarters winning the Blue Grass Stakes at 14/1 odds happen to ring a bell?

But yeah ... I suppose selections I post on here before a race don't count. I really just can't grasp the complexities of synthetic track route racing? right?

TVG had 3 different one-day contests at synthetic tracks last year - in every single contest I turned eight $20 win-place wagers into over $1k. Luck? Yeah, I'd say... since the odds of doing that are about a zillion to one. But hey....

Pedigreequery says she won this race by 18 lengths (equibase chart not available) but in her next three and final races she was the heavy favorite and finished in the back of the field?

I think she got sick after the El Encino and didn't come back the same.

She won by 18 in this race, yeah. It was her first time going two turns. I think it's the 2nd or 3rd fastest BSF (119) ever given to a filly, not that I put a whole lot of stock in it. It's just unusual that a filly that ran such a fast fig is basically forgotten.

After he monster win, she got sick, got colic, got hurt and I think almost died two to three separate times.

When she returned something like 18-24 months later, she was nothing.

I have her PP's lying around somewhere, as I've posted them here before. If you like, I'll try to find it and repost them.
