Joey, I'm not arguing with you over who Manuel started. My point is more about the willingness of Girardi to adjust his rotation. I'm just saying he doesn't have a hell of a whole lot of options. He has his top 3 (which is pretty damn good), his #4 guy is now back to his old role and the you Gaudin who was accquired at the end for a 5th starter/long relief. He doesn't have a guy like Blanton, Happ or even Brett Myers sitting in is bullpen.

Doesnt really matter who pitches for the Phillies...they just havent scored enough runs. I think their pitching has held up fine (minus Lidge), its their offense that isnt doing what it needs to do to beat a team that is better than they are. Ryan Howard needed to have some big hits and RBI for them to have a realistic shot. He hasnt had any and they are down 3-1, about to lose this thing. Cliff Lee is amazing but the guy cant pitch every night and its very unrealistic to think he could have made 3 starts in this series against such a great team and won them all. Sooner or later, the Yankees will figure out what they need to do and beat him. Probably tonight.

Cole Hamels is a real douche and shouldnt be allowed to sit in that dugout.

i agree timmy , more and more if you look at this philly team you wonder how they got this far, it's been a lot of guts and other teams choking just like scuds talked about (the dodgers and rockies)

bottom line the yankees have rivera and no one else does , unless lee throws a big time game again tonight the phillies are going to lose as the bullpen will fail

your first part of the second sentence is spot on but your first sentence is as far off as anything could possibly be far off.

First off.. we are the defending World Champions. You kinda have to be a good baseball team to win the World Series. If you want to believe they only won because every other team in baseball choked.. then whatever.

Phillies bats are cold right now. Consider yourself lucky maybe? The most powerful offense in baseball.. blew 18 saves and still was NEVER even 2nd place in their division. eliminate those saves and the Phillies are the best team in baseball by far win wise.

Are bullpen is shaky.. though its really one guy who is shaky... Durbin, Eyre, Chan Ho Park, Madson (as an 8th inning guy not a closer) have had very nice years. Lidge just flat out sucks at pitching baseballs.

You really dont know anything about baseball do you? Defending World champs and back to back NL pennant winners only did it because other teams choke? I cant tell you how much it pisses me off when you say crap like that. I hope we beat your team 25-0 tonite. I know we are going to lose the series but I hope we just beat the crap outta you guys tonite.

first off last year doesn't mean anything this year. your starting pitching was much better last year. if you put rivera on the rockies instead of street explain to me how you would have won against them this year .... you would have lost simple as that in the 1st round.... broxton gave away game 4 this year in the nlcs , rivera would not have , mentally the philies own the dodgers as posted here by someone who watches 162 la dodger games .....so who did the beat ? they beat the rockies closer 2 x in colorado , they beat a team that doesn't believe they can beat them ..... now the play a team that punches back and has a closer who can finish and where are they ....down 3-1

take nothing away from last year's philly team but this team is not as good , the NL east stunk this year , the mets packed it in in June , the braves and marlins were too young to compete , they caught a team that should have beat them but couldn't finish games and the beat a mentally fragile LA team who they dominate

i'll say what you didn't say until today about you man manuel and his pitching decisions

i think girardi makes a mistake tonight by pitching burnett

i would have pitched gaudin tonight , save burnett for game 6 and pettite for game 7

this lineup is terrible know with melky out .... lee has to basically get 6 guys out .... gardiner , molina and burnett are all very weak against lee

burnett needs to be lights out tonight otherwise we go to game 6

Just because I didnt say something on here.. doesnt mean I didnt tell everyone and their freaking mom that Cliff Lee should be pitching game 4. And for all I know I may have even posted it on here.

And I DID post that if Lidge blows a save we will lose the series. He didnt blow a technical save but its was the same ****. I've said over and over and over I dont trust Lidge for a second, so STFU.

I talk crap on the Yankees cause I absolutely hate them. But I'll say stuff like cheater and A-fraud, but wont just make up stuff to make them look bad.

You are just making stuff up. Our starting pitching has been equal to last year minus Cole Hamels. Blanton is the same Blanton he was last year. Happ is a new guy who was BETTER than Myers last year. Pedro came in and did a WONDERFUL job. Cliff Lee.. well he's Cliff Lee. Jamie Moyer was the same last year.. gave up runs but won games because of the run support we gave him.

So Hamels is the only part of our starting pitching that has really suffered.

But we added a J.A Happ, Pedro Martinez and a Clifford Lee. That outweighs a Hamels breakdown.

And there is only one Mariano Rivera in the league. So to say "if Rivera was on the Rox or the Dodgers the PHils would have lost" is as much BULLSHIT as me saying if Rivera was a Philly we would be crushing NY right now.

Try to know what you are talking about before you talk. It may help your arguements. So far its turned out that the Yankee's are the best team in baseball and better than the Phillies.

But for the past 326 games the Phillies have been the best NL team hands freaking down.

Its funny how all the commentators on the planet said "wow its actually a WS featuring the best two teams" (not that the speaking heads really know anything) and you throw out this garbage.. come on now gales.

if happ is better than meyers why did he not start any games here in the WS?
