Mixed feelings. I think he's overrated, drops a ton of passes, has major personal issues and I liked Stuckey and Trusnik.

On the other hand, I'd probably take Keyshawn back if he could still be a deep threat for this team.

Basically I'm withholding judgment.

Chuck, 35-6. 35-6.

Those two may be the key to the trade. Edwards for a 3rd and a 5th is a pretty good deal. If losing those two hurts the Jets though then coupled with the picks it is a lot more questionable. You have to figure a 3rd and 5th are the sort of guys that would be big time special teams contributers in the next couple years so they may be sacrificing a lot in the special teams department for the potential to upgrade on offense.

Stuckey's a solid slot receiver, not much more and Trusnik is a terrific special teams player, not much more. My guess is Tannenbaum felt that with Izzo, Wallace Wright, Brad Smith, etc., we'll be OK on specials. I'm also guessing he didn't want to give up Stuckey, but Mangini didn't want a total loss at the position.

I honestly don't care if Edwards catches a million passes, if he hauls in a deep throw or two per game and keeps the drops to a minimum, I'll be happy. That way defenses can't double Cotchery and/or put 8-9 in the box to stop TJ, Leon and Shonn.

As you can see I'm already trying to talk myself into liking this.

There are a lot of all-pros that were drafted in rounds 3-5. Not to mention the teams get 4 years of control for peanuts. Lots of great teams were built through the draft, I dont remember any being built by trades and FA signings. The only way this is good for the Jets is if the dog starts to play to his potential, realizes that he isnt a star and dosent deserve star treatment and leads the Jets deep in the playoffs.

I dont remember. Joey will.
But.......
Sanchez is seemingly a franchise QB. Edwards is a disgruntled, overrated, diva WR. Clearly Cleveland wanted him gone and it looks like they got a decent return. They suck with him and they will suck without him. The next Browns coach will appreciate the picks.

D'Brickashaw, and now D'Brickahands? It's a shame, I thought he had the world by the balls when he was coming out of Michigan. I hope the change of scenery can do him some good, although I'm more eager to see how Stuckey does with the wideout-less Browns.

The guy did get almost 1,600 yards and 16 TDs in '07. He was one of the few that season to get anything significant on Revis Island. I'm not expecting that guy, but with a very good WR in Cotch on the opposite side, somewhere between his '07 and '08 is achievable.

So was it worth the sacrifice of the special teams?

Absolutely. Their special teams is still one of the best in the league, they just lost their minds yesterday and let that failure get to the edge twice. They'd better back up the Brinks truck for Braylon in the offseason. He's a beast and is integral to the future success of the Sanchise.

He dropped an underthrown TD pass, big deal. After that he made a great leaping catch at the sideline at 3rd & 13, then turned a 5-yard dumpoff pass into a TD. I'll take the good with the bad.
