Without someone to set the pace I'm not sure if he can win.

I'd book 25-1 on Pioneerof the Nile even if he wasn't already out to stud.

I'm not sure but hopefully it was because his connections realized that if he couldn't finish in the money in the Oak Tree Mile with the setup he got then he probably doesn't belong in the BC.

He was bred in ARG, so its more than likely he's not nominated. Given his last (where admittedly, he was banged around pretty good on the first turn), they probably aren't looking to shell out massive nomination fees.

However, I would give the horse a long look if he shows up a couple of weeks later in the Citation at Hollywood.

I see alot of Father Time chatter, which cools me abit on him if he gets bet down, I thought he was getting a Jockey upgrade from Spencer to whomever but only vaguely hearing of Queally, a quick check of his stats in Europe, let's say they don't exactly jump off the page.

So yeah, if you're looking to close, you're kind of up against it, or at least so it appears from watching the first five races today - both turf and dirt.

Steve Crist posted on his blog today, "If Cowboy Cal and Court Vision are now the leading American hopes for the Breeders' Cup Mile, the europeans should sleep well tonight."

He posted again after the Goodwood, "They're not only sleeping well in Europe tonight, they're probably laughing. Gitano Hernando had been considered a more serious candidate for the $500k Marathon than the $5 million Classic, but today's result may make his connections, and several others, take a longer look at the Classic. Students of time, however, will note that Zenyatta's winning time of 1:42.89 for 8.5f was sharply inferior to Gitano Hernando's 1:48.39 for 9f in the Goodwood 35 minutes earlier."

Look for the Europeans to be overflowing the entry box, which should make some of the races more difficult to handicap and less attractive for American bettors.
