![]() Eugenio Velez was 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in a win over the Dodgers on Friday night.
With the Rockies loss, the Giants are 2 1/2 games back in the Wild Card. Velez led off the game with his fifth home run of the season. He later chipped in with an RBI double to give the Giants some cushion in the sixth. Velez has cooled quite a bit from his hot-start, but he still has a productive .277/.324/.442 line to go along with five homers, 27 RBI and eight stolen bases in 224 at-bats this season. He shouldn't be a starting outfielder, but with this lineup, he'll be in there more often than not.
