It was pretty scary around 11:00am - you could've fired a shotgun through there and not hit a soul. Got much better. Take out all of Sheik Mo's purchases over time. What a different industry this would be. I think he's personally holding this particular sale together so far.

Hip 325 RNA at 775k is someone who had no interest in selling. I figured that would be a filly that would be a must have..775k RNA in this market..she must look terrific.

The Moss's were there yesterday. Baffert all around today. Romans' was looking at several.

Maybe they are waiting for the peds to change in the next books - it is kinda heavy with AP Indy, Giant's Causeway, Distorted Humor, Bernardini, Storm Cat, Unbridled's Song, etc.

We got outbid on what was considered an A++ of the sale today by the Shiek, #368, Dixie Union filly.

She was awesome looking, fast as can be.

I saw salivation from a DT member when looking at her.

Look imagine if you had a Birdstone..12 months ago you are looking at 75k for a his best now 400k?? You need a FuPeg? "They are on the discount rack like another can of beans" -B Joel

If the guy wants the horse you cant win.. period.. Without this idiot people would be starving. Whatever he spent imagine if those horses went thru the ring without him. The sale would look more like a haunted house.

The thing is that pedigree really didn't matter on her I don't think. It really isn't that strong as it is. A friend told me that if he had an unlimited budget she would have definitely went home with him.

But yeah, if Shiek wants a horse, he gets the horse.

The Giants Causeways are not selling well because he won't bid on them , hell, I think one went through today for only 5k....

He doesn't bid on Coolemore period. No regulars are in the market..Respectfully the fact that you guys are even bidding on book 1 stock is terrific yet somewhat strange. I, with 4 other guys bid on a Gone West filly 4 years ago in Book 2 first day. We thought she would bring 200 to 250 we went to 325.. Jess bought her for 900 lol..Book 2 900 lol..Filly never ran a step!!

His higher priced yearlings are usually $400K.

Dixie Union can throw a pretty good looking athletic horse. He's managed to throw a couple solid horses each year to keep from going completely cold. I'll agree he's no superstar, but if you can find a good one I think they are worth it - and they are usually going to win early for you.

The two we bid on were long shots, especially her. At one point people thought she would bring 750k. It was more of a just in case she stayed within range, she was a must have. We didn't even look at many, maybe 30 total from book 1, the last two days (Book 2 showing) have been pretty busy and should be active the next two days, probably looked at 200 horses.

People that want to lose weight should just come and walk these sales.
