![]() You might hit this, and I hope you do, but that's just a bad play.
You're getting 7:1 on the horse and 17:1 on the exacta over the 1. Why not take that, if you have an opinion? You're not happy with 17:1? The turf appears to be biased for speed presently sprinting. I wouldn't touch the turf sprints until I get something approximating a fair track. This assumes you didn't bet to win and/or the exacta, of course. |

I was kinda frustrated about the previous race... I kinda liked the 4. and left him off a spread.... I agree with you, I should have bet him to win. Now I need to catch 4,7,8. |

![]() Last month, I liked a horse in the 2nd at WO. When I was looking over the 1st race, I noticed a horse that figured very well but wasn't getting bet. So, I decided to get smart. I bet the longshot in doubles with the horse I liked in the 2nd and I saved using the favorite in the 1st with the horse in the 2nd.
So, the longshot wins the 1st race and pays $50. And the favorite runs 2nd (I forget what the exacta paid). And all I have is a shot at a $244 double. Of course, my horse in the 2nd gets blocked while making a winning move in the stretch and has to settle for 2nd. (The exacta was $200 something but I would've had to go very deep to hit it if I wanted to save.) And I settled for SQUAT. |
