i never said he was good. The disagreement was whether he was much different than delonte west. And my opinion remains that they are about the same level of player. Both of them get to feed off of playing with a great player and both were bums before they got in the right spot.

West's numbers in his second year in the league were better than this year in every possible way (PPG, RPG, APG, FG%) and that was from virtually identical minutes.

the NBA kills the Finals by stretching the games out over such a long period of time. I understand the delay in starting the Finals when one series goes longer than the other but when you get action night after night for a month and a half it is hard to take two and three days in between games. Completely kills the momentum.

He was playing on a bad team that year with lots of garbage time where he was fifth on the team in average behind such luminaries as mark blount and ricky davis.

So playing on a bad team helped him shoot a higher percentage, dish out more assists, and grab more rebounds? Interesting logic, seems having Lebron as a teammate would help you shoot a higher percentage and dish out more assists for sure. So you could almost make the argument that his game has actually dropped off since his numbers have dropped in those categories despite the attention that opposing defenses pay to Lebron.

In 2005-2006 the Celtics were outscored by 1.5 points per game. In 2008-2009 the Cavs outscored their opponents by 8.9 points per game. Yet you are telling me that there was more garbage time in those Celtics games than in the Cavs games this year?

I think you are totally offbase. First of all he was a point guard in Boston. He plays much more off the ball now. Secondly LeBron james rarely scores off off other guys passes, he also controls the ball a lot which will cut down on guards assists. He also is assigned to cover the other teams best wing player on defense. The FG% is hardly a big deal considering he only avgs about 10 shots a game. Over a 10 game period it is three more missed shots. The guy does have a problem staying healthy which is why he isnt more respected. Even this year he was hurt and came back fairly quickly afterwards which surely dipped his numbers. 2 key stats that you failed to mention is that the number of turnovers and fouls has dropped quite a bit which shows that he is growing as a player. Basketball stats are also really affected by systems and coaches way more than baseball

I'm not buying that Delonte West sucked and is suddenly a good player. He's maybe improved slightly but he's not significantly better than he was in his second year. If Lebron leaves Cleveland he'll be right back to being on a 33 win team.

I dont think he sucked as a second year player. But he is a better player now. hell he was much better this year than last. I just want to know why PJ decided he couldnt play and refused to play him.
