Aldebutante worked Sunday in a perfectly even :48.0 half mile yesterday... Did it on her own without company and under no urging. Galloped out 5f in 1:02.0. Cooled out quickly and was her usual leaping, squealing self afterwards. Returned to the track this morning with the pony and was very good. Cherie said Aldebutante was more relaced in yesterday's effort than in the work the previous week and feels good under her.

One noticeable change in the filly since last fall is how much taller she has gotten. As a result, she is covering a greater amount of ground with her longer stride. She is scheduled to work one more time on the 7 day schedule (6/7) before tightening up to a 6 days work tab (6/13; 6/20; 6/26). At that point, she ideally could be approaching a start for early-mid July.

Any idea what tracks you're thinking of running her?

I spent the day in Louisville, and got to see Aldebutante and RB King (or Run? small star, looks like Smarty Jones head, chestnut, think it was RB <g>, though Run had a star/stripe, but Chuck or Steve can correct).

Anyway, Aldeb looks terrific: sleek, muscled and shiny, and was also very friendly and affectionate and calm - good for her! And RB was very sweet and friendly. I said hello from "everybody"

Sorry, no pics, recently got a new digital camera, but forgot it! Argh. Maybe later in the week ...

Chuck will offer details, but slowish work more a result of his telling Tony Farina to keep a hold of Aldeb. Chuck was pleased that she didn't fight Farina's "6-5".. Cooled out quick. Stiffer work next week, but continues to go well in anticipation of her 3yo debut.
