I don't think he was a "C" student. I think he went to Harvard Business School. You can't get in there if you are a "C" student. There's a lot of misinformation out there. I remember when he was running against Al Gore, their grades were actually shown on a news show. Bush was a better student than Gore, yet most people had no idea of that. People thought Gore was some great student.

Anyway, Bush certainly is not articulate but that doesn't mean that he's not a bright guy.

Stud, you wanna know what stupid is?
Stupid someone who watched that interview and honestly believes that Bush didn't know the exact plans of the plot he referred to down to the last detail.
Really stupid is someone not understanding how intelligence works and thinking that Bush could just make more than a vague reference to that plot, in a manner exactly as he did it.
I remember the info about Bush and Gore, they also showed SAT scores and Bush had much, much higher scores.
Its kind of amazing that anyone could think hes dumb.

Of course he knows the details. Kripes, I'd hope so.

I have zero qualms about doing what needs to be done as far as interrogation. None. Anyone who believes that interrogation of any POW is pleasant is, I believe, wrong, notwithstanding Geneva Conventions, etc.... If they're not "guilty," let them go. Otherwise....

My best friend of 40+ years is a Captain in the Army Reserves and just got furloughed after 18 months at Gitmo. He's coming to visit in a couple weeks and I know he will have stories to tell that he can't relate over the phone.

Bush is a bright, smart guy. A Yale and Harvard grad, what does it matter if hes a A,BC student. The guy running the whole show didnt even finish college (Rove). I had no problem with his answers to Katie Couric, except it just was too vague and reptitive at sometimes.

in any case cant stop the AL GORE TRAIN!!

GORE in 08!

I guess that makes me stupid, he really knew about all of those weapons of mass destruction, that worked out well...

I am not a die hard Conservative or Liberal, I go with what I think is best, sometimes I lean Liberal or sometimes Conservative, most of the time I would say Conservative. Anyone who votes strictly on party lines and doesn't look at both sides, is a complete moron in my book. I do not blame Bush for the terrorist attacks and I think how he handled Afghanistan afterward was great. I also think he did a good job with the Economy and some of the reforms for Financial Statements and increasing retirement contribution limits. However, I do not think we should have invaded Iraq.

I was listening to the radio on the way home from the gym this morning and I heard that quote, it was completely rediculous, I almost drove off of the road. Sure, it was just a cutout of the whole thing, but I couldn't believe I heard that. It sounded like he was making things up as he went along

I do not think he is stupid, but very embarrassing at times.

if we dont invade Iraq then Sadaam Hussein would still be in power, then what? I really dont give a **** if there was proof or not of WMD's. Fact is Hussein is out and rids the world of one less terror, and to think he had no ties with terrorists or had plans for some kind of evil plot, then your just not very bright.

Great that Saddam's out. I agree. I was just hoping we'd have gotten a bit more for our half-a-trillion bucks by now.

that part we have no control over, no matter what is put into place that would say otherwise. As long as its in the "defense" of this country the resources are limitless.

I am not bright, this coming from a complete loser that pours his life out on an internet message board. I hope your stories are made up, because you might be one of the most pathetic people that ever lived. When you get a job, buy your own car, house and be worth over 6 figures with your own money, then you can talk to me, but until then, why don't you go lose some more of your daddy's money and sulk over some chick that saw you for the loser you are and dumped you...I am out of this thread, I don't usually discuss politics and I think I will stick to that philosophy...

you dont know anything man, thats just a little snippet of my life. I have a job, I dont have a car but since you wanna say how your worth 6 figures. Theres a BMW 7 series and mercedes ml 430 on the driveway that I can drive if and when I choose to drive. The money ive been losing isnt daddy's money its my money from my own savings, paycheck, and stock.

If you are not happy that Sadaam Hussein is out of power, then I dont know what to say to you

Stupid is thinking Bush could tell the truth if his life depended on it. I assume the interview cited in the following article is the one to which everyone is referring:

http://www.tnr.com/blog/theplank?pid=36597

And I think you have Gore and Kerry confused on the SAT scores. But hey, no worries; Bush can't keep bin Laden and Hussein straight... FYI, here's the respective scores for Bush and Gore:

Bush: Verbal: 566, Math: 640 (out of 800)
Gore: Verbal: 625, Math: 730 (out of 800)

... and I beat them both in Verbal, and Bush in Math. What does that say? (absolutely nothing, really. Fat lot of good it's done me. )

Which of course is not to call you stupid, Oracle, as I don't think you are (and wouldn't even if tortured. ) I'm just a sucker for continuing a repetitive bit.

interesting. Despite being so smart ...how the heck did Gore manage to lose his home state? Only major party candidate for Prez ever to do that.

Oh, STS, one could write a tome on what Gore did wrong in his campaign. A veritable tome, I tell ya! He would have been well served not to take his home state for granted and actually campaigned there a little harder...

But I think there has also been a definite anti-intellectual bent in the nation for the past couple decades, (which is not good for our long-term dominance) and I think a lot of American voters don't want to vote for who they see as the smartest guy in the room-- they want to vote for the guy they think is like them. And I'm not sure how we, as a nation, address that. For all of our "kids need to do well in school" we sure don't make being an academic achiever socially acceptable, do we? Better to be the athlete or the drunk party guy if you want to have friends. What do you guys think? How do we address the anti-smarts thing the country seems to have going on?

The smartest guy I knew in HS, last time I heard was selling shoes. It's what you DO with your intelligence that matters. There needs to be a balance between scholarship and real-world sense. Education costs a fortune these days and, in reality, does not guarantee success in business or personal life
