Why didn't GP card any other 9f dirt races on Fla Derby day? It has to be pretty hard to assign a fig when the G1 is the only race at the distance on the card. Isn't that why they always used to card that 1 1/2 mile starter on the Belmont card?

i can't imagine any racing secretary carding a race to help make it easier to figure out speed figures

It's not just speed figures ... you can't properlly analyze several factors in a race as well when it's the only one on the whole card carded around two turns on dirt.

It's a disgrace that it keeps happening on big race days.

Agreed. I'm really not a figure player but I like to have some perspective and when the G1 on the day is the only one at the configuration.
