I'm bold enough to say that in this game, a sheikh and a little guy like me have exactly the same chances when our horses find their way into the gate. It's happened before, and will happen again and again. Today we found a few well bred favs go down to lessers. It's just a big oval afterall. The horses do it, whether it's a 500K sire like Storm Cat, or one that doesn't hook with the sales ring buyers cause they haven't heard the name. It gives a little guy like me hope. My guess is that many have forgotten Stage Door Johnny. I haven't. The gene pool is pretty close. DTS |

![]() DTS,
hypo Darbay with Silver Music. Outstanding. DOn't forget Peruvian and Legion FIeld either. And Key Contender for Bourbon Streettune, or any Ice Capade top line sire. ![]() i know these are not Deputy Minister lines but indulge me, lol. |

Thanks. I wrote them down. Darbay is 100% winners from starters. Sires have been Gold Miner's Gold and Gone for Real. Ice Capade looks like a good match for Boubon Streettune. The Stanislavsky filly is gorgeous. That one is heavy with Northern Dancer. She's growing like a weed. Thanks for the input. DTS |

Help me out on this if you have some time. The only Ice Capade I could find in NY is Chief Seattle ( Seattle Slew X Skatingonthinice by Ice Capade). Chief Seattle is at Empire Stud in Hudson, NY. Here's Key Contender. I couldn't find Ice Capade in his ped. Thanks. http://www.highcliff.com/registry_pdf/key_contender.pdf |

![]() Here's the hypo for Silver MusicXDarbay. I see what you mean on this.
Line breeding to Raise a Native, Native Dancer. Silver Music's fee seems plenty good too. http://www.pedigreequery.com/p/20062.php |

The Key Contender/Bourbon Streettune i like because of the Ace Card 5x5 that results. I think Concorde Bound has had some success crossing Bold Ruler line to Bold Ruler tail male which the Key Contender gives you too. A nice ped always results when you cross the potent males and then inbreed a reines de course to really tighten up the ped. Inbreeding reine de course gives the sire more of what he is looking for, imo. Calumar, a Calumet bred son of Seattle Slew, is a 1/2 brother to Alydar and he has just never gotten decent mares. He has shown success with Northern Dancer influenced mares. He is a great outcross for Northern Dancer/Mr Prospector and more breeders need to send him some mares. He's not getting any younger and his pedigree is to die for. Of course you should match the couple physically before a mating, not just on paper. Last edited by sumitas : 09-03-2006 at 01:42 PM. |

![]() Danzig and Sumitas,
Thank you both very much. I'll be doing research and having a look at them at the farms. I have an "in" with High Cliff, so Key Contender might be right. Do you know anything about Dehere? He's the sire of Stanislavsky. The grey filly has turned into something. Of course, she's about two years from hitting the track, but looking better every day. Thanks for your insights. I write them all down. Calamar! And here I was looking at Aly Galore. DTS |
