IN fact, my old man and I got into a shouting match about it over teh phone last night, in which he hung up the phone on me. We bickered back and forth about letting the 'heart and soul' just walk. He horselaughed me when I told him I loved the moves. Would I have loved to have kept Dawkins for next year?? Sure, but not if its going to hinder our progress in the next 2-3 years. He went for teh most money knowing it's the last dotted line he'll ever sign in this league. Now, if we didnt have a capable replacement in tow, I'd be howling to the moon as well, but such is not the case. You have to look at it from a different standpoint in order to make sense. The Eagles simply do not make mistakes when it comes to releasing/not re-signing aging veterans. They've done the best job of that in the league the past 5-7 years IMO. The list of guys we let go, at the peak of their popularity and on the decline in their ability, is a long one. We just move along and plug the holes. So, in short, PHUCK Houshmanzadah. He's a possession reciever. The only wideout to be had that is worth Gord Gecko bucks is Anquan Boldin, and he's inked up. If he isnt able to be pryed away from the Cards, just sit back and wait for the draft. Thats when the real fun begins, and that is where TEAMS are built for the long haul.
