![]() I think there's one angle that is being missed or dismissed here. And that is some trainers do better with some horses.
You see it all the time in professional sports, tennis & golf especially. All of a sudden a average player shows great improvement when they change their coach. Sometimes it's a better match, some times the coach see things or stresses things the last coach didn't. Some times the player is just happier. Can horses be happier? Why not. I'm not a horse man, but I would think if you listed all the things trainers do or can do, it would be a mighty long list, legal things that is. My guess is horses that move forward, for the majority, are simply just that.

![]() Hey, I just remembered that this filly, Frolic's Dream, was entered to run on Derby day at Belmont in a five filly field.
How'd she do? |

![]() Barclay Tagg has done an amazing job with this filly!
Since leaving Wolfson .. he's managed to get her to run Beyers as high as 76 in his first start ... and a whopping 55 last time out after she had been out of Wolfson's barn for almost 3 full months! And a pair of double digit length defeats at 9/5 and 5/2. A great training achievment. She only managed figs of 85-105-86-92-90 in her five career Marty Wolfson races ... winning 4 of them .. including 3 stakes wins. |
