This post makes about the least sense of any post I've seen since that drunk chick that used to post here posted here.

I have three Desert Warriors. I'm faster than at least two of them. I've crossed him off the list.

We've got one in the pipeline... Set to make his debut next Sunday.. He's a pretty quick son of a gun. Out of Salt Water Reign's dam, Top Ruhl.

I wish you the very best . Salt Water Reign is the same Deputy Minister/Ruhlman cross as your colt . Whereas SWR is a 5 gen outcross, the colt sports a 4x5 Bold Ruler. An interesting and creative pedigree .

and here's the replay of SWR's win at Aqueduct this Wed.

This summarizes Desert Warrior's 2009 to date .
http://www.nybreds.com/frames/FS_stallionnews.html

"The 16:2-hand stallion is from the immediate female family of multiple leading North American sire Storm Cat and like Storm Cat (as well as other prominent sires A.P. Indy and Gone West), he is out of a Secretariat mare."

Yeah, but he's got no Storm Cat blood in him.

Dude you really are a special individual...Why any stallion resides in NY is beyond me. All you have to do is have them drop in NY and they are NY Breds so what is the point of these ridiculous no talent stallions standing in obsure NY State?

From the stallion owner's perpective, the stallion award portion of the NY Breeding Fund is pretty generous; the stallion owner gets a percentage of all progeny earnings in NY. In some cases, it's better to get the mares here in NY and then get the stallion awards when the offspring run than be lost in the shuffle in a place like KY.

From the breeders' perspective, the incentives to breed to a NY stallion are far less. Certainly, if you want to get a yearling in the summer sales at Saratoga, you almost have to have a NY-bred by a KY-sire (unless your last name is Thomas or McMahon).

Do away with stallion awards...Put that money back into the purses for owners.. Turn the stupid stallion farms with crappy stallions back into corn fields like they belong.. Fn waste of time standing 1250 dollar slow ass stallions that produce slow ass horses that are as common as a Hunts point hooker

Is the NY program conceived and foaled or just foaled?

Illinois has two different programs, conceived and foaled and just foaled and Owners and Breeders awards are different based on those two instances.

The NY program is NY-foaled. However, certain program awards differ depending on whether the stallion is based in NY or not. For example, with open company owner awards, the owner gets 20% of the horse's share of the purse if the stallion stands in NY, as opposed to 10% if the stallion does not stand in NY.

I think it's time to eliminate "NY bred" awards for the out of state stallions . Don't you think a NY bred should be a foal conceived and foaled in NY ?

No. Eliminating the breed-back rule about 10 years ago is the reason that we've seen NY-breds like Funny Cide, Commentator, and Carson Hollow in recent years, and the list goes on and on. We don't need a return to the way things were in the 1980s.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with Sumitas and how he can be so damn stupid. But my best guess is that he either has a nail lodged in his skull .. or that he's friends with Justin Dew.
