![]() it would be comical if it were not so sad. shapiro bought the brooklyn bridge from madoff. wow, great judgment investing millions in one guy, greed kills. he also bought into and sold the idea of the poly tracks in california. you know the ones a trainer called a mine field just last week. i would laugh if it had nothing to do with horse racing, but these are the fools that are running it into the ground! God help us all. santa anita has been changed so many times to the tune tens of millions $$$$, what a joke! does it surprise me that shapiro got taken? not really

Too bad that turkey Shapiro foisted the debacle of fake track on CA. That is an example of the judgement of people running this sport. They are so far REMOVED from the reality of everyday life, that any shyster with a good story and "the right connections" can sell these dolts anything...including fake track. Shapiro got what he deserved. And NOW, he wants a "bailout" from Congress? Of course. Shapiro, like all his "fellow turkeys", feel they are "entitled". |

And I do agree the bailout part is a bit much, although the tax adjustment seems like it might be reasonable. How can you pay taxes on profits that never existed? |

![]() i think comparing shapiro to bush is a bit over the top. installing a surface you don't like means he deserves to lose his retirement to a crook? and i'd imagine you'll still find more in california who like the synthetic than trainers who do not.
they say honest people are the ones who get conned, as they expect everyone else to be honest. but you think it's partly his fault-did you learn that in eco 101? gimme a break. |
