you're putting words in my mouth....I didn't say he was a failure.
I didn't write the article, I just brought it to your attention.
The medias had a love-fest with this guy from the beginning. You should try grasping the context of the message rather a word, followed by a knee-jerk reaction.

"My exact point is that he raised the expectations so high with campaign rhetoric that it will be impossible to achieve what he promised."

apparently, i condensed what i was reading from you into one word-failure. but you didn't say he was one? but you did write the above....i would think, by reading that, you were suggesting he will fail.

What I'm saying is that he either knew his positions were untenable, or had bad info. Shortly after his election, he and the media said he'd need 2 terms to fix the problems. Standard Demcratic response....hell, I didn't know...
that is not a change.

it was shortly before the end of the presidential race that the poo hit the fan. the 'stimulus' package they pushed thru back last spring only delayed the inevitable. when the economy started tanking, he started talking about the realities of the situation, rather than what he wanted to push thru-it was back last summer that he first said he didn't see raising cap gains taxes as happening.
i know where i work, i make plans-and hell, everything works out perfect on paper. but you also have to be able to handle things that come up spur of the moment, you have to roll with the punches-either that, or you're denying what's right in your face. it's no surprise to me that he is saying economy FIRST. you're taking that to mean economy only.

timmi.... for real man... the guy isnt even the President yet, give him a chance.

How is he not keeping promises when he isnt even in the office for a few more days??

Pres elect Obama is the soon-to-become leader of the greatest country on earth.... since he had been elected, he is getting briefed just like Bush gets briefed... basically information that only the executive office knows.

When you are running for president you talk about your vision & things that you want to get done. BUT, if then presented with classified information that changes a scenerio, you have to do what is best for the country even if it isnt what you were talking about while running. That is a quality that Obama looks like he has... and I wouldnt want anything less from the President.

I think you will be surprised Timmy, so far, IMO Obama has shown wisdom and integrity. I personally think he will govern from the center, or even more from the right. He's already pissing off Dems, which I think is awesome, because for me, it makes me feel like Obama will make a decision based on what he thinks is the best thing for the country.... not just that party line bulljive.

I know I went for McCain and all, but I am proud and happy that Obama is going to be our President. I would have been proud and happy with McCain also. I didnt really trust Obama during the race, but since then he has shown a lot of great character IMO.. he put together a top class cabinet and just seems like the right man for the job.

Timmy, I think it would be best for you to drop the conspiricy theories and back Pres-elect Obama. He's going to be our leader for the next four years whether you like it or not, and during this interesting time in history, it would be nice to have a unified America.

I have no idea if my post made any sense.

AT: My exact point is that he raised the expectations so high with campaign rhetoric that it will be impossible to achieve what he promised. Add to that he's now getting the real skinny on what's going on....so for the last month or so...he and the libs who protect him are floating the "lower your expectations, people" theme. 2) his cabinet is doing great except for the Richardson blunder, and the Eric Holder confirmation which could be tough to do, and the fact nobody wants the commerce job now...and yeah, Panetta is the salt of the earth..but does he have the guts to protect our country?

Don't count on me joing the "Kumbaya"!
btw...why don't we have his school records, health records or any other of the things that other candidate had to provide? just curious

i don't get it - the campain pledge was to end the bush tax cuts for the wealthy , not let them wait to expire after his first 2 yrs in office

why can't the top rate on income move uo from 35% to 39% retoactive 1/1/09?

Maybe because things are so bad that 4% of someone's $1 Million per year AGI might be better in the market place that with the IRS.

IMO Because Obama has to take care of his true and supportive friends like Penny Pritzker. 4% of a couple billion is real $$$$.

He hasn't even taken office yet and you've already decided his fate.
The Democrats are waffling already about the economic plans and some of his
appointments. He says he can't do what he said because didn't have a CLUE
as to what was required to complete his voluminous promises. There's plenty of people concerned about the future. As I said, I'm an optimist and I'm hoping that some of his plans work cuz the nation needs them to work.

Bush called Obama "Very intelligent" today in his press conference...

Obama should be insulted...that's like Ray Charles telling you your shirt doesn't match your pants

You're an optimist....thanks for the laugh. You're lots of things, but optimistic about Obama is clearly not one of them.
Try reading a paper or any internet news and you'll find plenty of info.
If you don't understand the thread then I really can't help you.

now, nowhere in the article you posted (nice touch on the source also) does it say this. So, I'm just curious where exactly Obama said what you wrote. Surely if he really did say it, it shouldn't be that hard to put up right? I'll be waiting...
you are so intent on proving me wrong...you look it up. the article wasn't from a right wing source so take it on its' merit,or not.
