I Have Had Root Canals Up The Ying Yang! They Suck. The Little Files They Use To Bore Through The Root, Wow. Then Your Wallet Gets Rooted Out Also. They Are Not Even Done By Most Regular Dentists Anymore, They Send U To A Specialist. If Its A Tooth Hidden In The Back Of Your Mouth And You Are Over 45, I Suggest You Just Pull It Out.

I have had 6 root canals. If you go to a specialist it will be quick and easy. I agree the anticipation of pain is the real problem. Relax. I think it depends on which tooth on how soon you get over it. I've had them be pain free and I've had one that hurt for exactly 5 days and the next day it was completely pain free. You are lucky to get pain meds. My dentist won't do it. Says that tylenl is enough. Glad to see they aren't all sadists.

it is very important to take the antibiotics gotta calm that nerve down.

as far as the price.. that is better than my insurance. You typically have to pay half. The price is about right too. It would be about $1,000 without the root canal.

The problem with geting teeth pulled is it loosens up the ones next to the pulled tooth. You only have some many teeth try and take care of them.

btw.. if you don't take care of the new cap it can go bad below the gum line. Be sure and floss. I would hate for you to have to do it all over.

btw

the reason everything costs so much is because of FDR
compaies had to offer benefits because they couldn't pay people any more... when you aren't paying the bill you don't care how much it costs and the costs went up

If they do it right, numbing, it does not hurt at all, and once done it's massive relief as they are taking out the nerve. The damn gummy gel they use to make the crown makes me choke but you'll get over that.

Number seems high, may ask to spell out what each costs. Ususally about $500 for root canel, $500 for crown.

Still, nothing like a good doc vs. a bad one.

In Cali...it was 1450 with no ins for my daughter...she had it pulled finally
In Georgia, with minimal ins..it was 2600 for 2 RC's.. that was with crowns added!
But don't scrimp on your teeth...you gotta live with them for a long time, and a bad dentist can screw up your life big time...I could tell you stories
Good luck, Scavs

mine started on a friday night and i rode it out until monday (WON'T do that again). the infection in cheek was bad enough my eye was almost swollen shut. once he numbs you up you won't feel anything until he shoots the antibiotic in and he warned me first. my infection was bad so it hurt worse.
price your quote is about what i paid 3 years ago. and i paid $500-600 out of pocket.

The infection should be gone BEFORE the surgery....otherwise the risk of spreading the infection is much greater.
