Do arabs have a righteous beef as far as blaming other for the plight of some of their citizens? Perhaps you should read your history books before you answer.

Beyond any of that, why should we "choose" if we are going to side with Jew or Arab? I dont side with either. My point is that US policy has been unfair toward Arabs and has been a little too Pro Israel. But that doesnt mean im "anti israel" and it doesnt mean im "pro arab". Why do we have to be labeled for having an opinion?

ok, BB is off track again. The topic, of course, is whether the actions of Israel kidnapping the Lebanese grocer were dumb, cruel or whatever.

All we've gotten from this "raving radical" is that terrorism is bad. Well, this is not 3rd grade and yes, terrorism is bad.

Why is it that anyone who questions the Israeli government the "cut and run" Bold Brook already wants out of office has to be a Jew Hater and Terrorist supporter in need of a refresher course on the Holocoust? We all know about it as well as the Armenian genocide.

Rational people have the common skill of discourse and at least staying on topic.

I agree with your last paragraph.
Your first paragraph is especially interesting. Most people do not know that the origins of "modern medicine", and the location of the first "hospital" was in the land clled Mesopotamia, the land between the rivers. Surgeries were preformed there.
This was happening when Europeans were practicing "bleeding" and tying garlic around their necks to ward off diseases.
And many know that our system of numeration, called "Arabic numerals", originated and was dispersed by Arab traders.
The Jewish people also have made significant contributions to science, economics, and modern philosophy.
It amazes me that both groups trace their lineage to Abraham, have both built on the findings of each other, and form trading alliances (Venice for example) in the past when they found respect and trust for each other.
I hope to see the day when both groups put aside their hatred and attempt restoration of a forward path wherein mutual gain rather than destruction is quested.

I frankly think Israel is being more than reasonable here, they are indeed attempting to do what everybody seems to want...sure, they are going slow but can you blame them? The blockade should be lifted as soon as the UN forces are in place and the area "secure" (only time will define the meaning of that word in this case). The Israeli government must do all it can to safeguard the lives of it's people and any pull out leaves them wide open to blame should the terrorists attack...tough place to be in! I pray that the cease-fire holds because as Pgardn and others have correctly stated, further murderous acts by the terrorists will bring a different sort of response from Israel and nobody not wanting their promised flocks of virgins and goats wants that!

I'm inclined to agree with you on much of what you say.
Just my "take" is that not much is "secure". Ohmert seems to be defending his decisions from the inside. On the outside, the risks remain.
"A tough place to be in" might be the understatement of the century.
I also hope that the cease-fire holds. If it doesn't, we all could be in for a world of sh-t.
These are dangerous times.
