Since I am unfamiliar with most of the announcers, I will vote for Larry Collmus. My favorite call from him thus far is in this year's infamous Monmouth Stakes where at the beginning of the race he said, "And Big Brown broke like a rocket."

Umm because Tom Durkin probably isn't interested in leaving NYRA for Churchill.

I don't think these guys are in contention for the job, just filling in..right? Still think Dooley leaves AP and they bring Bill Downe's jr to Arlington. Although..I'm not sure Dooley would want to leave...nice long meet

I'm glad you agree. For a moment there I might have detected some sarcasm.

John Dooley is not a candidate for the Churchill job. He never even applied.

I am obviously a friend of Travis' and am hopeful he gets the job. (provided Andy Serling doesn't want it)

Very cool for Travis Stone.

Congrats Travis.

Whew. No Richard Grunder. That means he remains at Tampa. I was almost scared to click the link.

I'd completely understand what's going on without an announcer, as long as the graphics that show the first four horses are accurate and the fractions show up on the upper right or left corner.

For me, the announcer is good for entertainment. But I have good enough eyes that I can track my horse without him.
