Huh? Just because a guy is heavy does not mean he's not an athlete. I got a real close up look at Dan "Big Daddy" Wilkinson at a Dolphins practice the other day. YOU tell him he's not an athlete just because he's 75 lb above his ideal weight.

YOU tell Larry Holmes too, ok? He was not the most toned guy in the world late in his career, including in '92 when he beat the sh1t out of a buffed-up Ray Mercer for 12 rounds at the age of 43.

I guess boxers are not athletes either?

And, of course, don't forget Dusty Rhodes. The American Dream was still doing it well into his 50's. "I have wined and dined with Kings and Queens; slept in alleys and lived on beans."

I rest my case.

Of course they're athletes, Stud…..because they're doing MUCH more athletic things like trying to get past a 350 pound offensive tackle so they can sack a QB…..or trying to knock someone's head off (or keep from getting their head knocked off) for 12 rounds, in the case of a boxer.

They're not standing around waiting to hit a little white ball that's sitting perfectly still on a tee.

By the way, who's Dusty Rhodes?

I'm not saying Sapp isn't an athlete, I'm simply saying the same things about him that you say about Daley or Lumpy...they don't look like typical athletes doesn't mean they aren't. Dusty Rhodes (real name Virgil something, got brain lock) is a professional wrestler and promoter, always looked fat and sloppy but boy could he get it done! Pro Wrestling brings up an interesting point...obviously not a sport but the guys that participate are certainly athletes. So...if we are going to determine whether something is a sport or not based solely on the perceived athleticism of the participants, are you gonna say Pro Wrestling is indeed a sport?
