Oh my God.
Highly amusing. I'm glad a Yankee fan got what they deserved on this joyous day. |

The racial dog whistles have been going on all campaign long, all the way back to the Democratic primary. |

interesting? more like desperately trying to paint the GOP as racists. Anything New York Times has to say is usually un-American. They were against the US revolution and they haven't been on our side ever. vote for the Obamessiah or you're racist. (I guess Lynn Swann is a racist now) isssues? no we can't talk about those.

I also don't understand the 'un-American' thing. Not that I'd expect you to have an explanation. |

Nobody from the South calls a grown man with a degree from Harvard and a chance to be President "boy" on accident. And the fact that only someone who has no idea at all, whether from life experience or study, that this would not be done on accident completely explains your knee-jerk, pathetic defense of it. While I admire your zeal and blind defense of anything Republican and white, the fact that you're totally ignorant of the problems from and consequences of using the word "uppity" and "boy" to talk about a black man isn't exactly my/our fault. |

Yeah, interesting. I always enjoy reading Brent Staples and happen to find him one of the more intelligent gentleman in his industry. Do I always agree with everything he says? Obviously not. No doubt the NYT is a liberal and left leaning news source, but I love reading it. I'm never above reading a different point of view from mine. But IMO, he is spot on when he says this: Mr. Obama seems to understand that he is always an utterance away from a statement — or a phrase — that could transform him in a campaign ad from the affable, rational and racially ambiguous candidate into the archetypical angry black man who scares off the white vote He makes no mention of this, but I truly feel the opposite is in effect for McCain/Palin. I think the two of them must tread lightly in regards to the things they may say about Obama. Don't think for a second that the left wouldn't take anything either of them may say regarding race and run with it, Given the chance to paint either of them as racists, the media would light into them. The sad thing is we are having this conversation in 2008. |

The choice of Plalin by the Repubs shows a complete disregard for a presidential campaign being centered around issues And let's not just talk about Palin's intellectual mediocrity(and McCain's), we can talk openly about Johnny's age as an issue. In case those of you who are unsupportive of Obama(I need to include Coachpants, who likes to claim some sort of independence, but seems hugely against Obama) have not noticed this week, McCain's behavior is causing a lot of worries among your side. Pathetic. And there's no better candidate available on the national scene that would be better than Obama as the candidate for the Democratic party. |
