Why do men put pictures of women as their avatars?

Seriously, there are some guys that post their avatars as other guys and i think that is a little strange as well. Examples:

Hockey uses the picture of Beyer. Even without the pic, he is still a dork but the picture is kind of creepy. Check it out if you havent noticed and tell me what you think.

Coach Pants had some goth guy as his avatar for awhile and i cant figure out who it is. A little gay...just a little.
