![]() Unfortunately, each authority that has a stud book has its own rules and its own exclusion list. As a pedigree researcher I am always finding these sorts of duplications and decrying them. Already gnashed teeth over this new In Reality at my pedigree geek board after I saw her run in GB. Others that cause annoyance - Citidancer (Ire,1986) and Citidancer (USA,1987), both SWs and sires; Saros (GB,1974) and Saros (Fra,1974) - both raced in Germany about the same time, but only the first one stood in California; Sword Dance (Ire) comes mighty close to champion Sword Dancer; Red God (USA) vs. Red God (Aus); Admiral Drake (Fr) a champion vs. Admiral Drake (US). Have recently seen the names of several legendary broodmares repeated IN THE US, which I find offensive.

How about Bold Lad, U.S. champion 2YO ... and Bold Lad, British champion 2YO ... and owned by sisters? How about Spartan Valor ... U.S multiple-stakes winning colt ... and Spartan Valor ... U.S. allowance filly? Yeah ... you're a geek all right ... and a pretty dumb one at that. |
